Electric scooters are now the symbol of modern day urban mobility; they’re now frequent in major cities like Paris, Madrid, and San Francisco. The trend is expected to only move in one direction, upwards! Although we believe that this latest increase in popularity is fantastic but we’re sure that there are those who remain not convinced. Are you to be one of them? Perhaps we can change your mind!
1. Portability
Similar to folding bikes only Electric scooters may be the most mobile form of personal transportation powered by electricity. Many would prefer assisted modes of transportation, however they find them to be too cumbersome or complicated in their use. Motorbikes are wonderful but you’ll must have a license and insurance in order to use one. Push bikes are great however, you’ll usually have to chain it up outdoors and in danger of being stolen. They’re too large to be truely transportable. Electric scooters are lightweight and fold down, which allows to store them easily and are portable. It is easy to move it like a suitcase, which means you can transport it everywhere. When the time is right, simply fold it up and then you’re off!
2. Eco-friendly
We shouldn’t write an article on electric scooters’ advantages without also mentioning the environmental impact. The most significant geopolitical event of the present is the climate change. Our collective search for more environmentally-friendly modes of transport and reduced emissions is seeing some progress, with electric scooters being one of the frontrunners so far. They consume a minimal amount of electricity and do not emit any harmful emissions that are better for the quality of air in our cities as well as the lungs of the residents. For a safe, economical and green method of traveling, it’s hard to come any better than electric scooters.
3. Noise pollution
Moving around in a city and listening to silence are not a good combination. Any mode of transport about is associated with a substantial volume of noise pollution. buses, motorbikes, cars trains, and even trains. They’re extremely noisy. Walking can be noisy if you’re wearing closed-toed shoes! Take the electric scooter, an ultra-smooth mode of transportation that is the most efficient and quiet way to travel from A to B.
We’re certain that you may have an acquaintance who works early or late and then when they get to their home in the late hours of night or in the morning and hear the noise of their motorbike or vehicle is a loud and obnoxious sound. If they owned an electric motorbike, then you won’t be able to hear a sound.
4. Balance and movement
Another issue facing humanity in the present is our increasingly active life style. We are often in workplaces or jobs which are mostly seated and the majority of us take a train or drive to work and back. With modern communication technologies (FaceTime, Skype, Whatsapp and more) which allows us to connect without leaving the house as movement becomes less and less important and people are trying to find time to exercise. With an electric scooter for shorter trips that typically drive or take public transportation, you can keep your body moving. Of course, it’s not substitute for working out however, it will work your core and increase your balance. The use of a scooter is an excellent way to replace chairs for something that is more active.
5. Safety
Each mode of transportation is accompanied by a certain amount of risk. If you travel faster than walking speed the risk of getting into an accident rises even something as easy as bumping or tripping over the person you are running with. When compared to other modes of transportation, like rolling skates, cycling or even hoverboards, scooters can be the most secure alternative. One reason is that you are able to simply get off when you notice the possibility of a collision. This isn’t possible to do with roller skates. You also can immediately access the brakes that hoverboards don’t have. Electric scooters are quick enough to be practical and enjoyable to ride however they also give you enough control so that you feel safe and secure riding.
It’s not too shocking, but we simply cannot be too positive about electric scooters!
