Let’s face it most of us enjoy a clean, fresh smelly home. Particularly if you work at your home. Most of the time it’s not enough to clean the house and open the windows and sometimes, we’d like an enduring scent that fills the home with something that we cherish. Many people resort to candles that smell as well as wax melts.
But, what’s better? burning a standard candle or opting for a candle melt? We’re here to offer you five reasons to choose wax melts instead of candles.
1. Wax melts tend to be less expensive than candles.
Because candles require more components to make than melts of wax, it generally means that they’re more costly. The general rule is that candles require wax. But don’t tell me that! I’m sure melts also do! As well as the other elements that melts require in fragrance oil and perhaps some form of colour. However, candles are also required to have a container as well as the candle wick. Both could add significant amounts to the price.
A glass candle holder will always be more expensive than a melt of wax that has been removed from molds or kept in the clamshell.
2. You can typically reduce the environmental impact of your activities by using wax melts
This is directly related to the main reason why you should think about candle melts rather than candles If you reduce the amount of materials used and also decrease the environmental impact.
We’re in 2022, we’re all working to minimize the impact on Earth in the least amount possible. Are wax melts completely ecological? Absolutely they aren’t. Absolutely nothing is. Everything needs materials, transportation and in some way increasing a person’s carbon footprint. If they’re sourced appropriately the melts of wax can be less harmful to the environmental sphere than candles.
Of course, there are times when wax melts are packaged in clamshells, which are typically not recyclable. That’s why it’s recommended to purchase wax melts that have minimal or no containers, or compostable bags or recyclable clamshells for wax melts.
3. Wax melts typically offer a greater scent diffusion than candles do.
I’ll make my opinion about this issue clear at the outset I believe that candles are not suited to provide a pleasant scent throw. I don’t see any benefit of using candles to create fragrance , since I don’t believe they offer much. In general, they are smaller in melt pool but even when you do find a bigger pool, the candle is melted in a way that’s incredibly and creates a pile of wax on the sides which you need to trim.
It could be that I’ve been purchasing cheap candles. In truth, we did have one Jo Malone one once (I know, proper posh Bastards) and it was fantastic! But I’m not going to pay these costs when I could purchase – or even make – melts instead!
4. The best wax melts may be more safe to use in the presence of children
The appeal of melting in contrast to candles is the fact that they are able to be used with no flame. Of course, a lot of prefer the traditional flame-based burner however the option of using an electric model is also an option. You have an option of melting burners when you use a wax melt as opposed to candles.
An electric burner will reduce the risk of a fire happening in the event that the child falls on the burner. Of course, candles must be kept away from range of kids, however accidents do occur. Therefore, having an electric flame is more secure over exposing the flame from candle.
5 – Candles generate more waste than melts of wax
Have you ever bought a huge candle and then been ecstatic to ignite it? After a couple of hours that it’s either swollen or you’ve got a ton of unutilized wax dripping from around the edges of your candle because the burn pool runs through the wax? There are some strategies and tips that you can employ to avoid these issues but the fact remains that candles are more prone to wasting wax than melts have ever.
And, not only that, there’s also waste from the materials employed. It’s likely that I’ve already covered, so I’ll stop there.
It is important to determine what you’re looking for prior to deciding either a candle or a wax melt. candle
Before you decide whether or not you would prefer wax melts or a candle, you need to determine what you’re looking for out of the item. To me, candles have one main reason: light!
In winter, I am a sucker for lighting candles instead of lighting the main light source. This is the reason we typically use long stick candles, or simply tea-lights with wax melters. I’ve not seen candles that are great for bringing a strong scent to your home. They do include a nice cold throw but the hot throw isn’t anything compared to a good wax melt.
